Simultaneous Introducing Pair & Anemone?

Hi All.

I'm getting ready to introduce a host and a pair of Gold Stripe Maroons to my tank, and I'd love to hear some opinions on the best way.

The pair I'm targetting has been at the LFS for about a month. The sex differences are extremely clear, and they seem to get along great. I know that there will likely be a reacquaintance period when I introduce to them to their new tank, and I'm prepared to work with that.

It's my understanding that with GSM the reacquaintance will be hastened with a host. This will not only speed it up, but also maximize odds of success. Is this true?

Secondly, it's also my understanding that the host should be well established, lest the new pair smother it.

Since I currently do not have the host, I'm planning on adding that first. I've heard acclimation time for the anemone is anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Does anyone have any ideas on the possibility of purchasing their current host, and introducing all three at the same time - (1) anemone, (2) Female GSM, and (3) Male GSM? Since it is a host they already "know," will that make things easier on the host? Or will they be so needy in their new tank that they smother an old friend?

I've had my eye on this pair for several weeks, and I don't want to let them slip away, i.e. if I wait weeks for an anemone to acclimate they will be sold. On the other hand, I don't want to introduce them to my tank without maximizing the odds for success. Any ideas are appreciated.

I did a similar thing, so I'll share my experience...

They are already hosting an anemone at the LFS right? If so...

I put the anemone directly in the display from the LFS, and put the clowns into QT. After about 6 weeks of QT, I introduced the clowns to the display and they pretty much immediately found the anemone and dove tight in.
