Good news Mel.

This does not mean that we all have to get tattoos, right?:D

Good news -- Nathan can join the club for the same dues. $24 pays for the family plan also.

Man, that's a lot of replies!

He and one of his friends at work had joked all day about how he should do it. They came to the conclusion that he should ask me through the bathroom door, while I'm pooping. hah hah. But it didn't happen that way.

SO...he was extra extra nervous. He has apparently been planning to do it for a good long while but he just kept chickening out. He really meant to do it while we were on vacation with all his friends around, and even told a guy that he was going to go do it "right now". But when he went over to me, he wussed out again. He didn't want me to think he did it because he'd been drinking, as well.

So we got back on Tuesday afternoon but we were really busy. Then Wednesday it was Oct 1 (the start of my VERY favorite month) and he wanted it to be a special day that he asked me. He was really nervous all day...heartburn and indigestion.

When I get home, before I even get out of the car, he's right there at the door. But he's got this VERY painful look on his face, like he's worried as hell about something. I go over to the mailbox and he's looking even more painful so I say "uuuuh, here's some mail for the landlord." He grabs my hand really hard and kinda blurts out "Will you marry me?"

I said "What? Really?" then he shakes his head yes. So I say, as I always do whenever anyone asks me a question, "no." hah hah. He looks really shocked and then I said "yes, of course!"

So we stood there at the mailbox for like 20 minutes hugging and talking about it. Then he says "I've got to go sit down, I feel weak." Then we go sit on the front porch and he says he's got terrible heartburn. I thought it was really funny and very sweet.

I would like to go out to dinner to celebrate!

Eddie...we all have to get tattoos but not because I'm getting married.

Congrats Mel, that's great!

saw some other posts first (haven't checked-in for a bit), and read things like "...bring the fiance," and "...set a date," and THEN I found this thread!

Dinner sounds like a good idea; something mild perhaps so as not to aggravate the heartburn ;)

Congrats to the both of you. Wish you all the best and a long life of happiness.
