Singapore Angel

Is a Singapore Angel Reef Safe? I've gotten Mixed reviews. Some say yes, but will eat small crustations, others say will nip/eat soft corals. I've already figured out that it eats crustations as I no longer have any shrimp in my tank, but I've never noticed it nipping any of my corals(mushrooms/polyps). What I have noticed is that my small mushrooms have disappeared, but never seen the culprit in the act. Just seeing if anyone that owns or has owned one have ever seen them nipping at there corals. Thanks for the Help.

First, "Reef Safe' does NOT apply to any Angel. ( In fact, its mostly a myth anyway. Any fish can turn on your coral!). Singapore's are reported to be somewhat "safe" at small sizes. As they grow, they will become more of a threat.
Also, any sick coral in an Angel tank is fair game. Just something we "Angel" nerds figured out recently. Well, Copps mostly!

Does that apply to coral beauty's as well? I have one of those as well.

Yes it does. It applies to ALL angelfish

All SPECIES of angelfish.

INDIVIDUAL fish in your tank may differ.

In my 180 mixed up reef are 2 cherubs, a flame and 2 singapores.

No problems. I should note that the singapores are under 3 inches and only a year and a half in the tank.

As above, ALL angelfish! Including Genicanthus Sp. Angels, though they are least likely to offend.
As Copps discovered, one trick to keeping angels in a Reef Tank is to have your coral in outstanding health. Healthy polyps are less interesting. Centropyge, for instance, will eat diseased or stressed polyps. Also, LPS are more tempting to many fish (including Tangs).
