Singapore Angelfish refusing to eat

Title pretty much sums it up. It's big at about 5". It ate at the store but unfortunately not in my tank. I have had it for roughly 8 days. It hasn't changed tons weight-wise. I understand they can be shy and bullied into hiding but it is the most active fish I have and by far the king. An example would be adding spirulina brine shrimp soaked in garlic guard, it wont eat but once the other fish get excited it takes runs at them. Aside from that I have tried: nori on a clip and PE mysis with and without garlic guard as well as a cloud of 30ish hour old brine shrimp with the pumps cut off. The one thing that might be working: I have been moving rocks up from my refugium with mainly pineapple sponges on them. The angelfish may be eating them but on the one rock (which stayed untouched for a couple days) all the sponges were gone but it looked like a hermit crab was munching on them?

Unfortunetly, they can be very touchy eatters. I lost two in the first 2 months. 1 never ate and the other was but just stopped and died the next day.

Are you feeding it what it was eatting at the store? If not, I'd try that. If yes, just keep trying and make sure nothing is bothering it or causing it to hide. If it's tasting, then maybe if you try some different items, maybe it will start. Good luck.

falconut: It is at the complete opposite of being bothered or hiding. Unfortunately I have not yet tried the food it ate. It was eating some no name mysis- didn't look special.

Monkeyfish: I will keep my eyes peeled for both. I also saw some frozen zoo-plankton at a LFS, thinking about trying that.

Just went and picked up Cyclopeeze as well as Ocean Fresh Pacifica Plankton (what I referenced before) is actually Euphausia pacifica. Seeing it thawed it looks like what it was eating at the LFS I got it from. Fingers crossed.

Tried both the new foods. It showed mild interest in the Euphausia pacifica, I thought I may have seen it chewing at one point but its hard to say- I have to hide around the corner and spy on the tank as it is still shy to people. I cut the pumps to allow it to maybe graze on the settled food. I think I will try just the Pacifica Plankton soaked in garlic guard tomorrow. If this doesn't win it over I don't know what will.

Unfortunately I discovered a light case of MI. Considering how the angel isn't eating already and the fact it has settled nicely into it's new environment I cant justify stressing it out by trying to catch it. Breathing is still normal.

I would try some Ocean nutrition angel formula. It can also help if you spread the food onto the rock if your angel is grazing.

Live blackworms and live brine shrimp are the best for getting a fish to eat, followed by fresh clam. Once they eat live brine, you can start mixing frozen mysis to wean it to prepared food.
