Single 1.5" needs to end with 2-1" Sump Inlets...

So I have a 1.5" drilled tank (did it myself) and bought a r-300 not thinking it through 100% but it has two 1" inlets for it.

I have the quiet ones 4000 pump and currently have it set up with a Y but its not a legit Y more like it I with a leg that breaks off.. if that makes much sense.

ABOVE THE "Y" I have a 1.5" ball valve to completely shut off flow below. That ball valve is a restriction in itself.

Obviously I know I can not run the 1.5" to the full potential but am curious if I should set this up differently? I kinda wanna control the flow to the fuge so it's not a ton of flow.

Should I just but a 1.5" bulkhead and have a straight shot into the sump/fuge? Just not use the other inlet?

Any suggestion or do you think this is good?

What kind of drain system are you running? I'm not following what your return pump being plumbed with a Y has to do with the sump feed... A couple of pictures would help me understand the issues.

Haha sorry this is simply the overflow. This has nothing to do with return. I have 1 - 1.5" bulkhead that I installed and need it to end with 2 - 1" inlets for my Eshopps r300 and am curious the best configuration for this...

i am not thinking a 1.5" Y then putting two 1.25" ball valves (one per line). then step down one more to 1" for my inlets...

Does that should good?

So, if I understand correctly, you have a single 1.5 drain from a herbie and you have a sump that has at least two 1" bulkheads. With that as a basis, your drain can be handled a couple of ways. The Y you describe would work. Just get a couple of reducer bushings to go to the size you need, but getting the spacing right to fit the sump will be a PITA. With a single drain line coming off a herbie there is no need for a valve and as you stated it serves as a choke point. Aesthetically, the fitting in the link posted by abenak89 would be my choice , and probably the quietest too, followed by a manifold out of 1.5" with bushings to reduce to the 1". I would get rid of the valve in your drain line and use the return pump to regulate the flow between sump and tank.

Ok so local store did not have any 1.5" Y's... so I went with T which I know will restrict flow a bit but do you think it will be ok? I have a T going to 1.5" (1 per line) valve that gets a bushing to 1" on the outlet of valve.

Thoughts?
