Single controller vs multicontroller

Hi,

I'm looking to get a 6000 for my 90g tank for right now and other one in awhile when I have some more money.
What are the real benefits of having a multicontroller vs a single one?

I know the multicontroller has some extra water movement options, can control 4, and includes the photocell.
The single controller can only control(w/out the branch) one and you have to get the photocell seperately.

If I just wanted the 6000 to pulse and have the food timer off, would a single controller be sufficient? Do people really use all the other different water control options on the multicontroller or do most only use the pulse to get some type of wave motion?

So eventually I would have two 6000s on each end controlled by a single controller for each so they pulse at opposite times.
I would save approximately $100 by going this route.
Is it worth getting the multicontroller vs the single?

If you plan to only have one pump get the single controller, you gain nothing by having the multicontroller. With 2 or more pumps it is worthwhile to have the multicontroller. To do what you want pulsing 2 pumps at opposite times requires the multicontroller. The single controller would only allow both pumps doing the same thing.
