Single Showpiece Fish for a 90 Gallon mixed Reef

A purple tang isn't a "showpiece" in a tank people... An angel takes that spot in most all tanks... Check out Copps thread and you will see what I mean, or Wayne's,Teds, Andrews...

Tangs and angels are my favorites. I'd get a Regal myself.

Went to my LFS today - had the most beautiful, fat, perfect Potter's Angel. Those are really pretty too.

Can you post some links to these guys' tanks, Dmorty?

Well with smallish tanks like the one in the thread title, most Large Angels won't fit. So we have to go to other fish :(

I totally agree with you, but tank size is the problem.

I'm probably going to end up with a regal. The price just scares me. If something like that died on me, I'd be horribly distraught.

There are plenty of dwarf angels that will make a showpiece. I agree large angels aren't a great choice for a 90g. Buy a regal from DD if your going to do it. I would get a Maldives, or Red Sea

An alternative to Regal and does not grow too large is the Singapore angel. I have not kept one myself but have seen one in person and it's a very pretty fish. Also it's very inexpensive. Like all angels it might nip but the one I saw was a model citizen.

I've always assumed the Regal was the tweener angel - between the dwarf and the large angels. Rated for 125 gallons I believe. A foot tank 90 would be fine, right?

But I'd trust the angel experts....

I think with regals the tank size isn't as necessary as the amount of live rock to graze on. I'd say with 75 lbs of mature rock in a 4ft tank you should be fine, as long as you start with a smaller one.

Give reef safe wrasses a solid look. Most wrasses can be kept in a 90 gallon with no problem, and there are some really stunning ones out there. Plus, they are not huge fish, so you could probably get away with a few more smaller fish to accent your showpiece.
