Does anyone whave experience using a single Tunze Wavebox on tank widths in the 30"-36" range?

Tunze's website says a single box is good for tanks up to 317 gals, but Roger feels a tank with a width 30" or greater is probably going to need a Wavebox + an extension.

Since my tank will be a penisula type of setup all tank internals will need to be at one end. So going with a Wavebox + extension will eat up space I'd rather use for my horizontal overflow(s)

Many thanks in advance

I have an 8 foot long tank that is 30 inches deep and I need an extension. There is a "tiny" wave that osscillates about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. I sat for about an hour making small adjustments to dial the thing in, but you can always try one first.

I'll end up shelling out another 500 bucks for my damn tank.:(

Good subject to bring out

I was torn between multiple Tunze Streams or 2 wave boxes on my large tank - When I called to order, the rep asked if my tank was glass or Acrylic? When I answered glass, he said there was a potential problem with the waveboxes blowing the seams out after several years use - thing is they had the waveboxes in stock, but the streams were back ordered and he didnt know when they might get any. He appeared to me to be pretty honest in passing on a large sale THEN - with no expectation of a future sale on the horizon.

So if the tank is glass I would research a little more first. if it is Acrylic I would DEFINATELY get two of them. If you only get one you will constantly stress yourself wondering ...... what if ?

I ended up putting in three 6200's with the 7095 controller NICE !!!!!!!

BUT DAMMIT I keep looking at that fourth light and socket on the controller and saying--------- What if ? ?

I had always wondered if the change in pressure would weaken the seams. Tanks are supposed to be level to avoid uneven pressure. I can't comment on the original question though.

I know there was some early concern when they first came out about "American" tanks holding up because European tanks are built to a set of specified standards and ours are not.

I've not come across any tank failures that I know of that can be directly related to a WaveBox. Then again, they've only been in use over here for what... three years now? Guess time will tell.

Regardless, I'm going acrylic. Living in Ca. big glass tanks leave me a little uneasy.
