YAHOOOOOOOOOO! :bounce1:
Even though I had been warned, I still succumbed to the urge to have a six line wrasse in my 185.....I was careful that he was the LAST wrasse I put in there after many years of stocking the tank with many wrasses and species.
Long story short, he picked on 60% of everybody in there including wrasses, cardinals, firefish, a regal angel (tiny) and anthias. Often forcing them to jump out of the tank. So I tried blocking all of the crevices where he could escape to and hide. The result was a very messy tank and disoriented inhabitants.
I had used a DIY fish trap before but with not much success. You know the type, cutting a plastic soda bottle in two, and inserting the front half in reverse.
This time however I found a makeup compact mirror at the drug store that, after sawing off the the small handle, fit snuggly into the back of the bottle. I threw some mysis in there as an extra incentive.
When the fish saw his reflected image in the bottle he had to investigate. (and start the attack!)
It worked in about ten minutes! Also worked on a cardinal that I wanted to trade in.
Another modification was to poke small holes in front and behind the mirror so that air bubbles would release and the trap would sink.
BTW, I know that some people have had success with non-aggressive six lines. I would NEVER purchase one again.
