Sixline Wrase and Royal Gramma Compatibility?

I have had a sixline wrasse for over 4 years now and moved him recently into a larger 150 mixed reef tank with only a few other fish. (None near his color or shape) My question is how well or who has had success with a sixline and royal gramma in the same tank? My sixline does show some aggression to newly introduced fish.

Order of introduction is more the issue than the two fish. I have a six line and royal gamma in my 120 gal that are about the same size and they get along fine.

Give it some time, you can never predict compatibility, I have several fish together that get along fine and the popular belief was they were not compatible.

I have a six line and royal gamma in a 65g (small footprint) and they are fine together - they were introduced at the same time.

6 line is the demon of the tank and it will chase and kill the black cap and the gamma no matter what order you put them in

Wow very strong statement there. Not every single sixline is possessed. Infact my sixline could care less who I add to the tank. He never pays attention to any other fish unless they come at him first.

As you can see by some of the above posts these two fish can and do work in some tanks. Like all fish there are good ones and bad ones. Even some royal grammas can be bad and some sixlines can be good lol.

OP - If you can catch the sixline and take it out for a little bit then add the gramma while the sixline is out this could help ease any potential problems. If you do this though, don't let the gramma get established before reintroducing the sixline.

Mine get alone fine. My sixline has been mild mannered period. it was actually the first fish in the tank and I have added smaller fish, timid anthias ect without problems (I do however feel this is atypical. generally speaking my order of addition is all messed up but my fish behavior just dont fit the mold). the gramma of course hid in a rock for 2 days but was left alone and now is out all the time and the most aggressive fish in the tank (which aint saying much since its not aggressive either but will display around its territory).

I had both in the same tank and never had a problem, but not all fish have the same personality. If you are unluky you can get a aggressive one.
