I've been told that a sixline wrasse can become very territorial and harass other fish. To solve this issue, should I introduce him into my tank as one of the last fish?
ive had a sixline for close to 4 years now,he was the last fish in the tank..his tank mates are 2 clowns and a purple firefish, they are in my 29g biocube.the sixline is just the opposite of everything i read,he dont bully anything..
Every fish is different but the general consensus is that six lines can be very aggressive and if you really really want one then adding them last is the best way.
I also have a six line in my tank and he is a butt. He harasses the Yellow Candy Hog-fish to the extent that the Hog-fish has red marks under the scales right in front of the gills from the ramming that the 6 line has done.
I have to catch one of them and take that one back to the fish store. However, I can't decide which one I would like to keep. After that, the 6 Line has been great with the other fish. It's just the Hog-fish that is getting the raw end of this deal.
BTW, the Hog-fish was the third fish that went into my tank
Is the hogfish the same shape or color as the wrasse? The other fish may not be the same in shape or color, but I only know what i've read and not by experience...yet:thumbsup:
Anyways, i'm thinking of skipping out on the wrasse. Going to start my build thread tomorrow with my revised fishlist
The hogfish is yellow and IMO, close enough to looking similar in shape as the 6Line. I'm sure you are correct in your thinking and both would benefit with a bigger tank than my 29G.
