Size DOES matter!!

Since I first got my hands on the FMM and saw the results of the flow to my display tank I knew that I wanted to change out the 1.25" plumbing from the Jeabo DCT-15000 to 2" PVC. I had four 3/4" Loc-Line outlets across the front of the tank that I replaced with 4 1" PVC fittings.
The pump is rated just shy of 4000 gph at 0 head and I was getting an average of 1170 gph with the frag tank and calcium reactor offline.

Over a 800 gph increase just by using larger diameter PVC!

My only "problem" now is that I have too much flow! I have an Herbie style overflow with two 1.25" full siphons and two 1.5" emergency drains. My full siphons are now completely open and I still have TONS of water going down both emergency drains. Once I get the new frag tank back online I can divert a lot of the excess flow through it.

I think these flow modules are going to show folks how restrictive loc line is (avoid it myself) and how poorly a lot of the DC pumps do against any kind of head pressure.
