the 6025 is hard to comeby so its just as easy to purchase the 6045. what is the design difference between the 6025 and 6045. larger impeller (propeller)? and why would the price point be 30 dollars between the two? are they the same diameters?

They are the same size, same propeller, same motor, the body is physically different in regards to flow and correction of the direction of rotation. The price point is largely marketing, just like it doesn't really cost that much more to build an E class Mercedes than it does to build a C class or a 6" diameter skimmer over an 8" diameter skimmer. One is built and priced at a slimmer margin and the difference is made on the bigger model.

Of course Roger is very modest man The 6045 motor is actually slightly stronger than the 6025's, what that means for us is at a minimum it can tolerate buidup more and needs longer time in between maintenace, and if you are like me...

i take it "physically different in regards to flow" means the slot orientation on the body of the pump, what is meant by corection of rotation?

The 6045 has a bulkier motor section, the coil inside is identical but it has more potting over it, this has to do with the flow and correction. The 6045 cover is more open but it is not the slots it is a guide tube inside that is more open. AC powered pumps spin both clockwise and counter clockwise. This works fine for an impeller pump but prop pumps only work spinning the right way. The 6025 has a different mechanism than the 6045.
