Sizing up Tunze Hydrofoamer?

Tunze Pump

Is there a way to compare the performance of this pump to: Sedra's, Dragons, Sicc's, etc....????

Tunze always makes sweet products, but when it come time to replace my Sedra 5000 on the ASM G3, is this an option?

Thanks,

I would compare it most with a sicce, although it does not have a unidirectional volute so it does not decrease flow when the pinwheel spins in reverse. Actually the best comparison would be an ATB mini Flowstar which modified the sicce to have a unidirectional volute. The ATB may have also increased the volute size too but I am not sure. on that.

Thanks Greg. Which Sicce pump would you compare it with?

The Sicce PSK-2500?

If memory serves, Tunze used to equip their skimmers with Sicce pumps and they were noisy. The Hydrofoamers are SILENT! I have a 9440 with that started out with the Sicce and when the SILENCE pumps came out, I upgraded. The new Hydrofoamers provide excellent, reliable, and QUIET service. In addition, they pull a load of air. I don't remember the numbers, but Axel speced the new version of the hydrofoamer to pull as much or more air than their competitors.
