"Skies" Picture thread.

Put em up!!! I'll try to get in tomorrow or Sunday. Been way too foggy and overcast here this week.

That's Mount Whitney, nearly dead center, on the horizon.

See, now that ^ is what I wish my camera could do! I'm pretty certain it's lacking the sensor for it.

Bah. A tripod and a camera capable of a 30 second exposure and you can do it too. You just need to train your brain to see what your camera can see.

Picture does it no Justice. One of the most amazing night skies I've ever seen. Well, unless you count an Alaskan Sky with the Aurora ripping, but that seemed like an image for another thread!

So, this is going to be a new animal with a completely new set of challenges! I took Doug's hint and paired it with a new UWA lens, and this is what came out:

LOTS of room for improvement. But at least I'm in the ballpark.

Doug that shot is awesome. Funny how people shy away from photography when there are clouds but man, they can make for some spectacular Sunset/Rises.

Half way?? Jezze, we're past peak and what's left is getting ripped down by some crazy winds. Snowing up in the mountains and you can see that snowline moving lower and lower. Won't be long now before I'm dusting off the trusty snow shovel.
