i currently have a skilter250 in my 55G tank. i have 6 fish, 2 cleaners, 2 serpent stars, 2 anemones, 3 corals, 75lbs.+ live rock. is that enough or do i need to beef up to a better protein skimmer? thanks and any help would be appreciated.

Yea, you really need a better skimmer. I'm a big fan of large skimmers. I feed my tank every day, gotta remove the crap! I have a 37 gal tank, my skimmer is rated for 250 gal. When you get one, remember if it says it's rated for 75 gal, will only work well about half that!

Yes, you need a MUCH better skimmer.
I had a Skilter 250 on a 10g, and it was barely adequate for that.
Skilters are ok for water circulation and poly/carbon filtration, but the skimmer is just awful.
If you want a hang on skimmer, look into the Aqua C Remora or Remora Pro, the Corallife Superskimmers or the D&D Typhoon
