Skimmate won't pop.

Ok so long story short. I have decided to modify an older pm skimmer with a reef octopus pump. This thing seems to be producing some crazy skimmate. Smells horrible my problem seems to be that there is so much going out that the bubbles don't pop and are filling the skimmer cup and the catch can. How do I get these to pop quicker in the collection cup or even in catch can?

You have a lot of dissolved organics in your water which is causing the bubbles to stick together instead of pop. The skimmer is working as it should and you will continue to have sticky bubbles until your DOC's are reduced. The only thing you can really do besised ride it out until the DOC's are reduced is wetten the skimmer up a bit by raising your sump depth or closing the gate valve a bit assuming this is an internal skimmer or closing the valve a bit on an external skimmer. The idea is to raise the water level inside the skimmer which will wetten the skimmate up a bit and help the bubbles burst at the surface.
