Skimmer 9010 or 9020 ?

Hi Roger,

I just purchased my sump, 35 gal. sump that I'm going to be using to run my 118g tank (lps/sps) well stocked.

I have a compartement in my sump made for the skimmer:

The dimensions of that compartement are:

L: 9.5"
W: 8.5"
H: 15.5"

What skimmer would you recommend for my system ?

I was looking at the 9010 skimmer for sure, but I was thinking going big with the 9020 instead ? Would the 9020 fit into that compartement of the sump ?

From the dimensions of the 9020, seems like it would fit. But with the water outlet and the blue foam cartridge..will it fit ??

Yes it will. I think the 9010 would work but a 9020 would definitely fit.

Would you say it should be okay, if I started with the 9010 and later on add another 9010, that would be right beside the other one, if I judge I need it.

The 9020 is nice, but I don't really have space for the recipient to collect the junk

Is there any downside by having two 9010 one right beside the other ?

The only problem is it would be a bit wider because the cups are too wide for the skimmers to be right next to each other, it would add about 2 more inches since you need space between the skimmers.

yeah that's ok, actually they wouldn't be right beside each other..but more opposite to each other.
