got my new 75 gallon running with a hang on skimmer until i find a skimmer to buy need help on which to use. This tank is my first tank with a sump and my dimension for skimmer area is 9" x 11 1/2" and maximum heigth is 27" from bottom sump to bottom of display tank and water runs 12" deep in that section of sump.
Don't mininum water depth or max for in sump skimmer so what would be a good skimmer for a reef tank with only 5 fish mostly corals. Fish are two spot gobie, six line, scopas tang, and clown fish, and soon to be one more tang and that will be it. Won't be a big bioload.

which skimmer would you recommend out of these three. according to foot print size i can either get a euro reef rs 100, octopus needlewheel 150, or a ASM G-1X. would these work in sump that has 12" of water in skimmer compartment.

they all need water that is 8 inches

just make a stand for it to sit on

i would get the rs100 but maybe wait and look into the octopus extreme line when a few people buy them to see if they are ok

thats true, have to check footprint though i got 11.5 by 9 inch and 27" height to work with and water is 12" deep in skimmer section

IMO I'd go with the Octopus, that is unless your super rich and can afford to pay millions for the Euro RS then I'd go with it over anything. Some day when I win the lottery of Billions I'm going to buy me a Euro Skimmer just to gloat about it.
