skimmer advice?

I just upgraded from a 75 to a 125 and I realized that I didn't include a skimmer in my plans. Oops. I've currently got a CPR skimmer that's just big enough for my old 75, but I think I'm going to need something a little bigger for my 125.

The trick is I'm cheap... But I want to do it right too. Any suggestions?

Thanks

It's hard to beat the octopus skimmers for price/performance/mod-ability.

I'd check them out on the aquacave website. They have fast free shipping there.

Yup, what he said.......

So having looked there, I can see the price isn't too bad. I was hoping to spend less than that, but you know, you get what you pay for...

So any recomendations on what to get? I've got a 125 without a sump, but it will have within a week or so a 45 gallon fuge.

I've looked at these:

This is the super cheap alternative, I'm assuming you're all going to tell me not to bother with it...

And then I was looking at these two off aquacave

If i were you i would save up for the Octopus NW-200 Needle-Wheel. Aquatraders has some super cheap stuff but its cheap for a reason, im sure if you do your homework you will find that out for yourself.

IMO your skimmer is one of the most important pieces of equipment for reef tanks, like i said do your homework before you buy or you will just end up buying the one should should have gotten in the future.

Those Octopus skimmers are by far the best skimmers for the money.

Just my 2 cents

Dont bother with it :)

I would have to agree with the others here, if you are on a budget go with an octopus skimmer. The bigger the better and if you are going to have a sump definitely dont get a HOB.
