High co2 level tank response
High co2 level tank response
One qualifier I want to put on your results. IME you will see a much larger effect on the pH when you open up your house versus just running the skimmer intake to outside. I believe this is because, even though you are bringing in outside air to the skimmer, the rest of your tank still sits in the high co2 environment of your home. You would see far faster and better results from penning your house up for a day than you will by running the skimmer intake from outside air alone. My tank rose by .4 pH (7.78 to 8.18) from midnight to noon by opening up the house on a cooler day. This is all from co2 effects alone, as I made no changes to the alk/ph of the tank during that time.
The other thing I wonder about is what is this high co2 level doing to me and my family? :eek1:

My Ph was low during the day too. My fuge runs 27/7.
This moring the Ph was 7.78, so it's making a difference. If it gets up to 8.3 today, it's back to normal.
