skimmer broke...need help w/ decision

well my skimmer pump froze and welded itself together

who knows how long ago...could have been anywhere from 15 minutes - 2 weeks

I tried to remove the impeller assembly with a few different wrenches and it is permanent (not to mention that I broke the impeller trying to remove it anyways)

this pump was a constant battle with me ever since I did the stupid mesh mod

so now I have a few options

1. buy a new sedra 3500 w/ needlewheel $75

2. buy a new skimmer $$$$


I really like this skimmer, it is a euroreef rs5-3 and I think it is a great fit for my system (40br+20L+20L)...the skimmer is in perfect shape, except for the pump, which I ruined

It bites to have to pay $75 for a new pump, but if you really like the skimmer, why buy a new one? Maybe someone (cough cough Chad Farmer cough cough) has a used Sedra 3500 lying around in their closet.

Buy the new pump. you wont save any money buying a new skimmer and theres nothing wrong with a Euroreef. Sorry to hear it.
