skimmer dimensions

the 9440 doc skimmer literature says the diameter is 18.8". Is this the diameter of the body or is that number also including the pumps and exit pipe?

i am asking because i am currently setting up my sump based on this skimmer

It includes the pumps and exit pipe. That is the widest point. It could be angled in to fit a slightly narrower dimension and the pumps can be placed at the end of a hose which also reduces the width slightly.

the 18" width dimension is what i am nervous about/.

so your saying i can just turn it sideways, right?

Imagine it is configured like a Y two pumps one outlet, 8" skimmer tube in the middle. I really need to get a skimmer in and measure to give you a more definite answer as there are some accessories included (hoses for pumps) that make it narrower but I am not sure how much.
