Skimmer Footprint Question

The Skimmer section of my sump is 8.25X13.5. I have been looking at new skimmers and am puzzled by the footprint measurments given. I was looking at the Octapus NW150 and it says the foot print is 9x10. The body says 6.5 and you add the pump to one side, I can see 10 inches. What takes up so much room for the other direction?

Anyone with a NW150 that can tell me the actual space needed? Would it fit in my sump?
