Here you go. I think it's still for sale because the new owner went a different direction.

Here's the thread he is selling on. He just came through St. Louis again and picked up some true superman from me and bought a sump system Kentrob built too.

Actually I just bought this skimmer yesterday. I'm drooling over it now.

I wish I could have come up with the cash for that. Kent does good work and that is probably a few thousand dollar skimmer if it had a commercial name on it. At one time he was messing with an auto cup rinse mechanism on it but I'm not sure where that idea led.

when you guys talk about sprayers for cleaning the collection cup, you are actually talking about cleaing the riser tube right?

Wet necks are for cleaning the riser tube. Kent was messing around with a spray injection for the actual collection cup but he didn't keep it on there. I don't think.

Skimmers are so expensive due to the cost of quality acrylic. That stuff can run 20-100 bucks a foot depending on the diameter. You can diy one with cheap acrylic but it will haze and crack. And if you inject ozone you'll probably get less than a year with them.

You can save some money with the asm, Octopus(I think), and others but they are made of the real cheap plastic. I had an ASM G-2 for 1 day and I was afraid it would break.

Deltec has an automated brush system for the neck that works well to. I don't see much reason to clean the cup itself, or at least to spend time & money on it. It's the neck that has a direct impact on the skimmer's ability to skim.

Just lets you look in easier to see the foam head. Other than that there is no performance increase. On my etss skimmer it would have been great because that skimmer made such a dark muck that I couldn't see in 1 hour after cleaning it.

I have my riser cut at an angle so the foam falls off one side, so while that side of the cup is hard to see through, the other side is reasonably clean.

Here's a picture of my VOLCANOE in action. The body holds over 100 gallons. This skimmer runs on a mere 190 watts and is forced injected with air from an Alita 80! CFM is around 300 or more! These skimmers are revolutionary to say the least.

The riser tube in action. This is a 10" diameter riser tube. The main body is 24"

You should look at the Deltec AP1004. 200 watts with 4 Eheim 1262's. Custom needlewheel maximizes foam. I have an AP1003 and love it. Here are some nog shots. I don't have the self cleaning head but it is a very cool accesory. I don't think you'll find a more effective skimmer. Some dark chunky nog!
