Skimmer for an 80G FO tank.

I have a spare 80 gallon acrylic tank that I'd like to use as a fish only tank. Can you recommend a good but reasonalby priced skimmer? I was thinking of a Remora or BakPak. Thanks.

Personaly I don't use a skimmer on a fish only. I never have. I am not saying the tank wouldn't benifit from it, but I've had really good success with canister filters running chemi-pure.

you could run a bakpak, like i just got for my 80 (though it is rated to 60g isnt it??) or you could get a red sea prizm. prizm's are junk IMO though, i had one, and it had many problems, and was a pain to get to finally prime up.

Coralife super skimmer is probably one of the best hang-on's around right now, judging from the reviews. But a Remora Pro or if you can't afford that then the regular remora are the best hang on skimmers imo.

Go with the Aqua-C Remora or the new Super Skimmer by Coralife. I have heard good reviews on this one from friends, and it's great specially for the price.

If you feed a lot the skimmer will help but so will regular water changes.
