skimmer for my cube

hi, wondering if the tunze skimmer will be a good fit for this cube.(picts in gallery) the "sump" section is 23 high, 23 long and width is 7 inches.

The new D.O.C. skimmers will work but they aren't out yet- the bracing makes Comline difficult and the sump isto tight for the centrifuge skimmers.

ok, was just looking at your product web site. It seems to me the skimmer would fit over the smaller lip in the back of the tank. Is this what you are concerned about?...Its a little more than an inch thick....there must be some way i could get this to work with my setup.
thanks

Keep in mind the Comline units require a water depth of at least 10" up to 11". It could work if this is possible.

well the back section of the tank is 23 inches high so i dont think the water level would be a problem. would i need to somehow put a piece of acrylic on the bottom side of the skimmer to make it more 'level" because of the lip of tank?

Series 9000, they come out in February. They are a new Comline type skimmer that self compensates for water level and has a much greater performance than the present models.

The DOC skimmer can work as a closed loop skimmer like the current model in tank or a full sump like you will have or as a open flow through model in a low water level sump- much like a Euroreef. I would wait even though you won't be able to make full use of the flow through feature because, you will save $30, the performance will be slightly more and you can upgrade through all the range as you need. You won't gain much performance because with a full 11" or more water line it has to run in closed loop to avoid a big discharge of microbubbles but with the dam you have for the sump section it is concievable you could run it open if the flow through wouldn't be enough to carry bubbles back into the tank.

ok, the skimmer is the only thing i need now....on the comline units, you said the water depth has to be 10 or 11 inches deep...does the entire body of the device have to be submerged or only part of it?....i really need to get a skimmer.
thanks
