Skimmer help please!!!

Hey all I am having trouble with my skimmer. I can't get it dialed down to where it won't fill up with water in just a minute or two. I had it working great last week and now this. The only thing I have done was add Blue Vet red slime control. Did this do it? It has been over a week now. I have a vortex 1002 skimmer from Catalina aquriums. It looks almost identical to the Coralife super skimmer.

The red slime contrtol is your problem. It changes the surface tension of the water. You'll have to stop using the skimmer for a while, and then run carbon to get it all out of your water. I had this problem once and had to troubleshoot it on RC (pre WTMRAC).

i just dosed for slime as well. you need to do the carbon thing and a good water change.

no biggie really.

I have discovered lots of dosed things do this. Selcon for one.
