I was hoping some one could help me out. Me skimmer quit on me today. It wasn't much, but it was the only one I had. I'm waiting for the tax return to buy a new one. (I was going to get the one I was going to set up my 180 then,) I really don't have the money to buy two new skimmers. The one that died is a HOB sea clone. My 75 isn't RR. I don't even have a sump on it. All that is what I planned on the 180. Any way, I was hoping someone might have an extra old one that they could part with real cheap, or let me use until I can get my $$ in and get that 180up and running. Thanks

so I take it you need a hang on skimmer . If you dont get one more water changes would do the job. Probably cheaper than buying a skimmer for a short period of time .

Thank for the offer, But I don't have a sump. It just started leaking at the elbow. I've tried a few times to take it apart and clean it out, and reconnect it. I think it might be the seal is just worn out. But if it leaks all over the floor, I can't use it.
I will probly just have to change the water twice a week until I can get the stuff together for the 180 and get it up. Hopefully it won't be to much longer.

if it is leaking at the elbow just take the quick connect apart and go to your local hardware and get a new "O"ring for it. Had to do this once before on my sons seaclown! IF not just get some 100% silicone and silicone it together with the old oring in it to seal it for now.

Thanks, sound like that is common issue with these sea (clowns), Along with the fact that they just don't work worth a darn. Can't wait until I can get a real skimmer.

While your out pick up a limestone air diffuser and attach it to a piece of solid plastic tubig (found @ petsmart near pumps and airline tubing) that is long enough to go to the botom of the skimmer tube (top section - riser area) and drill a hole in the collection cup lid and run the tube up through it. Attach a air pump and watch how much better the seaclown will work! Amazing difference in performace. With this modification its actually a acceptable skimmer!

I have an AMiracle airstone powered skimmer that actually does work. You can borrow it and the pump if you would like. This was a typical days production when I had it on my 75. It will need new stones but it is complete.
