i was thinking about modifying my jebo 520 to include a re-circulation pump....has anyone tried this...im just looking for ideas or feedback on this idea...

I have a brand new 520 that I had bought with that same intention, but never got to that project. I have modified several other skimmers and recirc mods works great. You can do a recirc mod on just about any venturi or needlewheel type skimmer (ASM, ER, turboflotors). Just keep the recirc pump mid way on the body to inject the water above the internal tube yet draw water in from below. An elbow or 45 fitting also works to prevent turbulence.

Best way to modd this skimmer is like they do the ASM and with a sedra 5000.

... as long as you have the room. I modded my ASM with a 5000 pump as a recirc but it is bigger than most think. If space is a concern you can use a Sedra 3500. The venturi on this skimmer already works pretty good so a recirc pump will only extend the contact time and inject extra air. This skimmer with that mod will make a killer setup!

Ken, what did you use to cut the holes in the skimmer body, and what did you use for fitting? Uniseals?
I've used 2 different things to cut the holes in the body. The first time I used a regular hole saw. The last time I found these carbide hole saw bits at Home Depot used for tile. It looks like black sand glued around the cutting edge instead of teeth. I kept the surface wet and let the bit do all the work. Works perfect and no chipping.

I then used Uniseals. Customaquatic sells them but they call them flexible bulkheads or something like that, can't recall the exact name.

the bulkheads are called 'flexible tank adapters'...i just ordered one, they're only $4...thanks for all the advice
