skimmer on or off

hi just intrested as debating with the all nowing better half if the skimmer should be on or off at lights out time

whats you opinion and method ????????

i say on

my wife says off as its getting all those nocternal critters

i have agread to go with the majority so lets hope theres more than one on and one off post

i am leaving it on 24/7 at moment but the debate is when i put the rotifer in is it going straight into the skimmer and been waisted the skimate

I would think if you were only going to run it half the time, it'd be best to run it at night. My reasoning may be wrong, but I figure the bubbling of the skimmer helps to blow off CO2 that builds up during lights-out and helps to keep the pH stable. Is this good or bad reasoning?

FWIW, I run my skimmer 24/7.
