skimmer placement?

have my skimmer in the sump,its a wet dry,the water comes in from the hoses over the pre filter, trickles down over the bio balls,then i have my pump first,right next to it is a foam block,next is the skimmer,foam block inbetween skimmer and pump for micro bubbles ,so its bio balls then pump,foam block,skimmer,is this ok,will it still skim efficiently,do i have to have my pump be last,cause that would be a pain?sound ok,thanx

Remove the Bio Balls. So it trickles in the same area it is returned?

no,regular wet dry sump,its just a matter of pump is before skimmer,skimmer is a tunze

Inlet on one side,skimmer in the middle and return on the other end.

You want a flow thru the system for best skimmer collecting .I think that your way would limit the skimmers ability to collect waste.

i recently removed the bio balls and put the skimmer in that area to remove the "junk" before going though the rest of the sump. i have a 40gal sump & this way just seems better.
