Skimmer/pump compatibility

My Dolphin 900 pump just quit working for me on my EV180 skimmer. I was previously considering adding a recirc mod with a NW pump. Now that the feed pump is dead, would I be able to simply replace the feed pump with a NW pump? Or would I be better off just adding the pump Aqua C recommends?

i use a mag 9 on my Aqua C 240 and it works awesome. i think you would do well with a mag 7.

I use a mag9 on my Aquac 180 and it pulls out tons of stuff. I like to overdrive my skimmers. So maybe a 7 would be ok.
