Skimmer Q&A Thread

Well the build quality is very good. Its splitting hairs really. The Lids on the alpha and bk skimmers both are really thick. So the lid and base of the cups on the alpha is built a little heavier. The cone body on the ATB is made out of a better type of acrylic. I cant remember the name of the type of acrylic. But is more clear and a little harder. The cone on the alpha scratched really easy. Found that out trying to get it in and out of sumps. The ATB is built really well and the new on I have is fully polished. All the edges are polished and give it a nice look. They polished the wedgepipe which is nice because it makes it a lot easier to adjust. So far so good.

I noticed the bubble plate on your new 840 is different than the original 840. It looks like the one used on the small. Did you order it this way?

thats how they come now. Its the 840 v1.5 now.

oh I see the difference now. its the ring around the bubbleplate. mojo's has it and the normal does not.

Does that means its a girl because it has a skirt? it is skimming really well. I like the fact that the wedge pipe has been polished as it is really easy to make a fine adjustment to the skimmer now. some wedgepipes kind of stick and make it hard to make a real fine adjustment to your skimmer.
This is really smooth.
