Same as above really, I would go with the SRO 2000 if you can run it that shallow, or the vertex in 180. IT is also good. Hope that helps.

The sro is a good fit for the 90gallon . I would call reef specialty for sure on Super reef octos. Great service and price on them.

Premium is always good too.

mojo i have an euro reef(not sure what one) i got used from a guy who ran it on a 265 heavily stocked. it has been modded w a gate valve and what not, my question is how far up the neck do you recommend the water level to be?

I have an Octo extreme 200 on my 125 now I am about to break it down and go to a 90 gal with a 30 gal sump. There will be lots of SPS and some LPS.
I have noticed you have been suggesting the SRO 2000 or the Vertex in 180 for most with this size setup. I have been looking at the cone skimmers for some time now.
How about the SWC cone or the Octo xp cones are they about the same as the SRO/ vertex? I am just not sure if I any of these would be an upgrade for me or not. I really like the look of SWC cones but I do not know if ti is a well balanced skimmer. I know you will help me pick the best skimmer.

Was thinking the same thing. Hey Mojo, the price diff between an SRO 2000 and an SRO 2000 XP isn't much. Should I just stick with the SRO 2000? If so why? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks again for your expertise.
 
Mojo: need your advice bud! Total volume 100 g, want to get the SRO- 3000SSS. That skimmer is rated at 300-400 g, people always state the obvious, I just want to know if it will produce skim mate on a regular basis? I am looking for first hand evidence, not theoretical.

Hey Mojo. I have another question for you. You previously recommended the swc 160 for my 80gal + 40gal sump with ~80-90gal of total volume. I've since stumbled upon a killer deal on a bubble magus na6a for $100 and it's only 3 weeks old. What do you think is the max heavy load this skimmer will handle? On the BM website, it says the na6a will handle 100-160gal. So I figure that means 100gal at heavy; 160gal at light. It looks like the na6a uses the same pump as the swc 160 and na7. I like this because you said some time sicce pumps can start backwords. So will this skimmer handle my needs? Thanks Mojo for the wisdom.

Nope, the neck is too big. Get the 2000 or another skimmer. You will not be as happy with the 3000 as you would with the 2000

yea it should be ok, The swc has a little different setup on the pump. But none the less the nac 6 will skim away on your 80g.
