skimmer Q's

I am in the process of piecing together a sps dominated 125. and I have a few questions about a skimmer. My main question is is a G4 or DNW 200 too much? I dont want only sps, I love acans and zoas and I would like to have a little "garden" of each in my tank, I also want a few softies and a clam or 2 and I have been told a G4 or DNW 200 will basicly "strip" my water of nutrients and I will have trouble keeping zoas and softies? can I make up for this by spot feeding heavily? and which skimmer would you choose? G4 or the octopus DNW 200?

I've always been under the impression that the bigger the skimmer, the better the tank. It is much easier to add nutrient than to remove it. Sps really likes clean water. As for the zoos, I supplement them with some cyclopeeze

I personally would not choose any of those skimmers. dnw200 and g4 are becoming pretty out dated as far as skimmers go. They will work but you have some more options now days.
let me know what your skimmer budget is and space and I can suggest a few things to meet your guidelines.

look for a vertex, msx, or octoX for around that price. You can get a msx 200 new for not much more than that. Around $300 shipped. I have seen them for around 225 used. Much better option for that price range.

I think Im gonna go with a dnw-200 for now and start saving now and upgrade to a msx 250 later. unless I can find a used msx 250 for a really good price
