Skimmer question!

I've heard nothing good about this skimmer. Remember if a skimmer is cheap it will perform cheaply. A skimmer is one of the most important piece of equipment you will ever invest in and should buy the best you can afford. There are many good ones out there:

I don't live in the US so I don't know your availability or cost but I bought a Vertex In-180 for a 90 gallon reef and it has worked flawlessly. I bought it because it was 1) reasonably priced and 2) they were being used extensively by one of my LFS'.

There is a forum somewhere on this website I believe dedicated to the Vertex Skimmers. They had some pump problems in their first generation but the second generation versions seem to be much better.

There are lots of opinions on skimmers but if price is a big factor for you (like it was for me) then the Vertex is worthy of consideration.

Ive had an eshopps skimmer for almost a year now with no trouble just because it doesn't cost a lot doesn't mean its cheap
