Gregs right on the water changes, but even if it isnt working well, the skimmer will still oxygenate the water, drive off dissolved CO2 and keep the pH ballanced.
Well I don't have one yet. I just built an acrylic sump for my biocube, and was planning on getting a skimmer for it until I read the reviews on the oceanic brand biocube skimmer. So I don't necessarily need it if I do water changes (which I do once a week), but it would be a benefit to have one?
I never had one and I had no problem with my parameters, believe it or not when I skipped a week on a water change it looked better LOL. Is it drilled? What size acrylic sump?
Yes it is drilled and I don't exactly know how many gallons the sump is, I just built it to fit under neath the stand. It has to at least be 10 gallons if not more
