skimmer question

So I finally got the pump for my aqua medic multi 1000 skimmer in today. So I took the skimmer and stuck it in the sump and turned it on and it worked but the collection cup is being filled up with water for the past 10 hours or so, so ive just been letting it over flow into the sump.

I read online somewhere that in 24 before it will act normal. Is this true? because the foam is pouring very rapidly into the collection cup.

Also I dont remember where the manual is since ive had this skimmer for 4 years and have not used it since, but if anyone has this model, if they could explain the purpose of the knobs on the top where the water travels up the tubes and out.. Im not sure if the water coming out of those 2 tubes should have bubbles or no bubbles returning.

If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

You need to turn it down. The bubbles should only be part way up the neck so that you only get foam into your collection cup.

Check for a website, it will probably have a downloadable version of the manual

im not exactly sure how to turn the pump down.. I read the online manual and its everything I know already about it...

I got it!.. It was something as simple as making sure the hose was as short as possible between the pump and the pipe....

Something that simple sometimes ****es me off so bad :lol: but at least it working how it should be
