Skimmer suggestion for large system

I really have no clue which direction to go :(.

I talked to jeff at reef dynamics about a skimmer that is properly sized for my tank and what he suggests is the xrc750.3 at $3k or the 750.4 at $3.4k. I was thinking if I went with them the xrc1000 is more what I need but he stated not needed...... The xrc750 is only 6in taller then the old euro reef I have now...... Is that worth $3k plus???

If I went the reef octopus route, their commercial 7000 or 8000 is what I would do. However not sure how they work ad also the noise on the bubbleblaster 10000 pump

Bubbleking I think its their delux 300 or 400 which are $2300 or over $4k. Love a red dragon pump but I think the 300 is to small and the 400 is more money then I can afford.

I sent geo a email, asking for a price on a skimmer. Not sure if its something he can do or will so. He's located 80 or so miles from me.......

O yea..... I think you need to consider only tank volume for skimmer sizing and not total system.

I hear u bro its alotta money to make a choice that you may regret I think I'm going with the vertex alpha 300 I had the 200 on my 120 and I was very happy with it all around may also concider the bubble king supermarin 300

Have you considered the Reef Octopus SRO-7000ext ? Its a commercial grade 16in skimmer that is rated for up to 1050 gallons. It might be the best bang for the buck at $1400.

For me bang for the buck is sometimes bad. I want quality and don't want to have to replace a year or so later. That being said I have considered their commercial line of skimmers, both the sro7000 and sro8000.

Just worried about the unknows with that skimmer, haven't seen anyone use it. Wondering how loud the pump is.......

Heard nothing but excellent things with the alpha300 and super marines......

You cant beat the large jns/aquamaxx skimmers in their respective price ranges. They make a 16" and a 12" skimmer that kicks rear. The shark pumps they use are by far sicce's best skimmer pumps and they're balanced to perfection. To the op. Do yourself a favor and check out the jns sk5 and 7. Unbeatable skimmers for 1k and under. The aquamaxx cone 5,6,and 7 are a little more costly but worth every penny. BK supermarine type performance at afraction of the price. They are better than the Alpha skimmers too. Balance, balance, balance!

Lets see a vid......
How come they dont have these skimmers on there site.

Hey Steve, they don't have these on the website at this point because they have been busy and don't want to get too behind in their production. I will have pic's of MTC's "little brother- two mazzei venturi design) soon ! I actually have seen the "beast" 6 x venturi in action(Absolutely fish) when my wife and went to new jersey recently. We also picked up both the beast and the dual venturi for clientele from MTC (had a great time with Leo & Jeff) and saw the factory-very cool place !
