Skimmer Suggestion...

So if want to add a skimmer on my 72 gallon with over 60ponds of live rock, MH lighting, UV, Bioload (3chromis, 1 foxface, 2false perc.clowns, 1 mandarin, lots of soft and LPS corals). Cabinet space is tight and a HOB might be my only option. (Not enough room in my sump). Some people are bashing the AquaC, CRP backpacks some say are garbage, other say get a Tunze 9010 or something like that. What I have done some reasearch, but for every good article you find something just as bad. About 300 bucks in my pocket.
What would u suggets???

Deltec mce600 hangon hands down the best performer. I love mine. I little pricey but well worth it. Whats even nicer is that there is no ugly pump hanging in the tank.

If you only have $300.00 to spend I would stay with a remora pro with a mag 3, it did work great but the main problem was that big ugly pump hanging in the tank.

Red this before you decide on whether to geta Remora Pro or Coralife

This guy owned both and he stated that the Coralife is better than the Remora Pro.

Heck I have a friend who has a Remora (not pro) and my cheapo JEBO skimmer skims better than his. He too recently replaced it with a Coralife.

D. let me tell you I did have the remora pro for about a year it was a good hang on despite that big old ugly mag three hanging in the tank. But then I fell in love with the thread about the coralife super skimmer, I purchased the CSS 65 model to use as a hangon. At first I thought it was a nice little skimmer, but then when I started to clean the glass, the pump shocked me!! Then all of a sudden the cup started overflowing all the time with water, the little red knob on the skimmer was leaking with water. My floor must have been flooded three times. The overflow box was a pita to assemble. I have no experience though with the 125 model, I did experiment with the 220 model which is a different design than the 65 model. But I would be careful using the coralife super skimmer as a hang on model. There was a real big thread that dealt with the coralife super skimmer. i would read up on that.

well he has a 72g tank so I don't think the Coralife 65 is appropriate anyway. You're right though the Coralife 125 and 220 are much different than the 65 version and may be why you experienced problems with it while others have not with the larger models.

Thanks for the input. Well of I get the CSS it should be the one with the needle wheel, not the venturi correct?

Hey whats the feed back on the Deltec mce600.
