Skimmer suggestions for 240g

I normally just read around, but figured I would post here. I can't use the search function and checked a few pages around and didn't see anything, so sorry if it's been addressed.

My question is, what skimmer would you recommend for a 240g FOWLR tank? I may eventually go reef on it, but it won't be for a while as I have 3 other tanks, 1 of those being reef and I'm wanting a few fish that are not necessarily reef compatible. I know there is a huge variance in cost, so just toss out what you know from experience, or have heard from a reliable source you trust regardless of price. I am also planning on doing the mock in-wall deal with drywall in order to disguise all the equipment and keep things looking neat. Much like last month's Tank of the Month in Reefkeeping Magazine.

Octopus Pro 250 is what I am currently running on my 240 cube reef tank. Really simple to use...lots of dark skimmate.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have heard good things about octopus skimmers for the smaller tanks, so it's good to see that they are an all around good skimmer.

The price is not bad at all, either.

I have a ATI Bubblemaster 250 on my 240 w/ a 125 gallon sump/refugium and I am very happy with it. Also I think someone has one for sale right now in the seller forum.

hey Rendos, how do ya like that octo? I still havent got around to buying one yet, but I plan to.

Mandy, I was doing a lot of searching around, and it depends on your budget. from what Ive read a lot of people like their octo 250 pro, and its about $500. If you want to step up there is th Reeflo orca and then the bubble kings. I just dont have the money to spend on the last two. IT seems like either of the 3 would be a good choice though (from the reviews Ive read).

Thanks for all the suggestions.

In terms of budget, I pretty much could spend any reasonable amount on a skimmer (and reasonable I'd say less than $3,000) however, if a $500 skimmer would do a great job then I wouldn't spend more just to say I had the certain type of skimmer or that I spent more. If that makes any sense. Just because I have the ability to have a higher budget doesn't mean that it's necessary to spend it or spend it on a skimmer. :)
