Skimmer upgrade PICS

I just added a 12" extention and recently ozone to my lifereef skimmer and oh what a difference! from 24" to 36". I was forced to relocate. It is trully amazing how horrible the skimmate smells now. Though it is much clearer than before.

Is the extension a DIY or does Lifereef offer these?

The extention is built by Lifereef. It was expensive but the crafsmanship reall yis second to none. I am sure you lifereef equipment owners know what I mean. It took over a month to get to my doorstep though.

Gary, The OM is driven by a Dart. I just ditched the 1" OM 4way and upgraded taht to a 1.5 in x4 1" out (true OM 4 way unit). There is allot of flow up there in the 120 now. It's all good though!

I wonder if they offer that extension for non-flanged Life Reef Skimmers?? Seems to drastically increase the reaction time. Thats the problem I have with my lifereef. I feel theres not enough room for the bubbles to expand.

As far as I know. They only can extend flanged units. I also forgot to mention, I had to upgrade my skimmer pump too. I now run 55 Iwaki. I actually ran it on my skimmer before the upgrade. It was way overkill.
