Skimmer use

I am in the process of getting my tank established.
At this point, I have only one fish (yellow tailed damsel).
I hooked up my skimmer, and it seems to be working well.

The question is whether I need to or should be using the skimmer 24X7?

Thoughts?

I would run it. It'll provide aeration and filtration for emergencies, if nothing else.
