Skimmer? w/ LPS and Softies only?

with only 2 skunk clownfish i think you would be fine with no skimmer. if you went light on the feeding.. thiers a guy on the tampa forum that ran a lps softy tank for years i think it was like a 90 gallon and it was beautiful.. .. he touted in his signature no skimmer..
i believe when you do .. go that route you have to be careful with your feedings...
after four years i have finally started figuring out that so much live rock = so much fish = so much food
when i overdo it with fish in my tank then i have to feed more which in turn causes the nasty algaes..
i run a skimmer personally because i love fish .... :)

With that little of a bioload you will be fine without a skimmer. I run skimmerless in my 14 gallon with two clowns, and this tank couldn't be easier. I do water changes every couple of weeks, feed lightly, and run no mechanical filtration whatsoever.

For nanos at least, I feel that simpler is easier. A good bit of flow and adequate well-cured live rock is more than enough coupled with regular water changes and watching the amount you feed.

I'm successfully keeping zoos that grow like crazy, a couple LPS (including a candy cane that is constantly splitting), and a small birdsnest colony that I'm fragging at the moment because its gotten so big its blocking flow.

I am probably going to run the skimmer just because I have a bad habit of feeding a lot. I like to keep everything plump and happy. Thanks for all the advice.
