<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=8731451#post8731451 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Mr.Firemouth I have the MRC-6. Look at this thing after 6 days on a new set-up!!!
An MRC-6 will look great sitting right next to lsvagabond's 60 gallon tank and 20 gallon sump.
But seriously, has anyone compared an ASM to an ER with the same rating? Most everyone I talk to oversizes their ASM skimmer; is the practice the same for ER owners? Or do people up-size their ASM's because they can afford to do to the lower price?
I don't think there is much difference between the ER or ASM as far as production. Same pumps, same type of design, one is built a little better but I don't think that really effects performance. The ASM rates their skimmers per gallon a lot higher than the ER's. I think the ER is more realistic.
My vote is for the Deltec AP600, you have the flexibility to run it on the side of your tank if you don't have sump room. I run this baby on my 55 gallon. Deltec & H&S make some really nice skimmers. Check out the Deltec or H&S forum.
