Skimmer Woes

So I had my skimmer (small one that fits in an AIO tank) tuned and running fine for the better part of 4 months. Then, suddenly, it starts overflowing. I generally turn it off during feeding but that's about it. No new dosing, no new chemicals, etc.

I've tried for 2 weeks to figure this out - literally, I have the skimmer pump barely in the water, the venturi open all the way and the sponge tube extended all the way up. And even with that - instant overflow.

Perhaps my skimmer just sucks? It is a JBJ 45 that came with the tank. Any advice appreciated - was so happy when I finally got it working and now it is seeming to be permanently hosed.

Thanks!

i had a similar problem with my skimmer. i soaked the whole skimmer(body, cup, pipes and everything) in vinegar for a couple of hours and brushed everything off. after that, it's back to normal again. hth
