I just got a octopus 110, the problem I am haveing is it not producing nowhere near the amount of bubbles.I can run the riser all the way up to the middle of the cup and does not produce any skim at all.I took it all apart to clean it just like my octo 200,and still no differance. It just isn't getting enough air to the pump.

remove the turbine pump---take a filter brush and clean it good( impeller and all) reconnect it and start it up----never had a problem with it---it will produce what you are after--give it a little time

dolphinman...your on it

dolphinman...your on it

ya i think you might just need to service the pump... thats my gage for when I need to clean my pump for my skimmer... actually i do it religiously every 3months...

I have taken the pump apart 4 or5 times and cleaned the impeller as well and no differance. The pump is the stock one that came with the skimmer,it isn't pulling enough air. When it is running you can almost see through the main tube.

T he skimmer is used, approx 1 year old.I have a octopus 200,It skims like crazy,I turned it off and let the 110 run 24 hrs with the riser tube all the way up, and did not produce any skimate at all.

i had it completely covering the pump and elbow fitting to the skimmer body and i never had a problem with it producing skimmate ever

ok I got it,the water depth was wrong,I removed my 200 from the sump and placed the 110 in the return section where the water is 10'' it is working now.Now I can place it on my 24 gallon nano. Thanks guys for your help I appreciate it.
