Skimmer ?

Can anyone suggest a good skimmer to go with? I have a 75 gallon tank with a sump..... (think I would prefer one to go in sump)
Whats the best "type" or a good brand to look at?

any other info would be great

If you want the best bang for your buck I would look at the EuroReef RS series of skimmers. SaltyCritter carries them in stock. They are unbelieveable for the money and quality is superb... gotta love the ER's. I have a RS-250 on my setup and it pulls out the best skimate one could want.

For a 75 galon tank I would look at getting the RS-80 it would be perfect for your setup. For a little less money you could look at the ASM line of skimmers, but I would go with the ER. Plus you can always get most of your money back with an ER if you need to upgrade down the road.
 
I agree with the dog. Euro is the best, hands down and the rs line is not too expensive. The RS 80 would serve you well. The Critter is the place to get them.
 
I have a Remora PRO with Prefilter box and a MAG7 pump if you are interested I can bring it to the swap. I am asking $150.

This is what the crud it pulled looked like on my 55g. I no longer have the tank and have no use for the skimmer.

Cant say enough good things about Aqua medic skimmers, I have 4 of them on all of my tanks, from the 1000 series to the 5000 series, They all work great!
 
I'd like to throw in another vote for EuroReef and ASM skimmers. I have used the others listed as well and the ones I recommend were FAR better for me.

If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, my recommendation is ASM. If you PM me, I'll send you a link to the best prices on them.


There is also a newer line of skimmer that everybody seems to be raving about, Octopus. Although I haven't used the line, I want to give it a try!

I just bought an octopus with the gate valve mod for my 50. I have yet to set it up, but the cost was very reasonable compared to similar skimmers.

I love the skimmer. It is a beast to say the least.

Sorry, I am tapped out right now on funds. I have a wedding coming up in July. Good thing tunze 6055's won't be readily available till after then. :)
