Hi all my skimmer just took a dive so I am considering a new one. I have all the room in the world since the sump is in the basement. Does anyone have input as to which ones perform the best for the cash??? Thanks, Rod

This one works well for me...

its the euroreef 1000 I believe

I have an ER RS-80 does great on my 75

would probably fit in Mikes collection cup. lol

There are a lot of good skimmers on the market these days. Being that I have tried both becket and recirculating. I lean very heavily to the needle wheel recirc skimmers. Now, you just have to find the one of the many that fit the budget for ya. The ATI bubblemasters have had some good reviews. I went with the euroreef for some personal reasons of choice. The Eheim pumps is one reason. They have a very good track record. You have to do your home work on this. Skimmers change very frequently from manufacturer to manufacturer. I would try and avoid anything that doesnt have a twist off head. The thumbscrew method is a pain.

I like the ASM-G2 on my 90gal. Never had any complaints on it. Its the same as the Euroreef series but costs a bit less.

ok Bang for Buck there is not a skimmer in the world that competes with the REEFlo ORCA Dart needle wheel skimmers. you can get into them for less than half the price of competing Deltecs and euro reefs and they are proven performers, 2 of the last 4 Reef central tank of the months have been These running these skimmer.

For a 90G look at an H&S 1x 1260 that would be an awesome skimmer for your tank.

Oh and Mike that skimmer is too cool for school. :) Even cooler in person.

The older ER impellers were very similar to the ASM and performance on the models of the same size with the same pump for each brand was very close. But after ER changed to the new black/gray needlewheel performance was improved on the ER, also the larger insump models use the GenX pumps instead of the Sedra 9000 they used to use and which ASM still uses.
